Checking it Twice

I'm a list maker... always have been, always will be. I sometimes have multiple lists at once. I assure you it's more effective than using the "electronic version."

I often leave my lists in the wrong places, like sitting on my desk when I need it at HEB, etc. I generally turn around to go get the list so as not to deviate from it. Dave Ramsey would be proud, I'm certain.

Because of my list making quirk, I'm sure Santa and I would get along great.

Please... no need to be jealous of my ski goggles... or for that matter, Blane's famous bomber hat. This was on our honeymoon, pre-knee.

I have been less than consistent at updating this darn thing, but thats what happens when you are taking two - very challenging- grad school classes and teaching a bunch of teenagers about the history of this great nation.

Anyhow- All is right with the world, it is officially Christmas vacation. We will be heading to Colorado to ski a couple days after Christmas- I CANT WAIT to ski again for the first time since I tore my ACL, doing what else but skiing... on my honeymoon. :)

We had a big week- Scout graduated from puppy kindergarten this week. I don't think he was top ten percent, but he was definitely in the top quarter. At one point I was thinking, "What was I thinking" with this dog... but he is turning out to be quite a pup.

The digging and chewing holes in the dry wall has ceased, the biting has turned to licking- which in my book is much more tolerable- and he minds his manners... most of the time. He has some pretty hilarious quirks, which makes him all the more loveable.

Next phase for Scout- "attitude adjustment" surgery.

I love my Birthday present.

Break out the Winter Coat

Reasons why I love winter-
-Hair
-Hats
-Lower CPS bill
-Coffee or cider 24/7 without sweating
-Ski season
-Coats... this year a red and black plaid coat from Anthro has my name all over it.
-The smell
-Holidays from work

Keep the cold coming! We deserve it for enduring 59 days of 100 degree weather.

Madness

Oh and I forgot...

If the President really thinks he can expand the school calendar, he must be living on another planet. I'll quit.

Summer break is not for students... It is for teachers, so we don't lose our sanity. Open your eyes, please. This is madness.

commitment trouble

I am having trouble "blogging." I'm a little in over my head on commitments right now. Somethings gotta give.

I am taking a mental health day tomorrow, because all teachers know that you take sick days when you are perfectly well and you work when you are sick. It's what good teachers do, go ahead... ask one. He/she will concur.

So for my mental health day I will be going to Round Top to the annual Antique show. Call me a grandma, thats fine, but I will be the one with the fabulous finds at the end of the day. Watch me.

I'm going solo... shopping at my own pace. I will likely spend 5 to 6 hours there. I might need another day just to recover.

Love - Hate

I cant watch the local news anymore. It's depressing. Too many terrible stories about crazy moms, drive by shootings, or animal cruelty. I can't take it.

Not to mention I cant stand "Chief Meteorologist Jennifer Broom"... I want a "weather-person"... not a cheerleader, to give me the weather. What makes her chief anyway?

However I love the sports guys, they are hilarious. Maybe I should wait until 10:20 to flip on the news.

And as cheese as it is I like SA Living mostly because they focus on good things that are happening in SA, not the depressing stories you hear at 5, 6, and 10.

I hate this hot summer, is there any end in sight? Football games are going to be a beating in this heat... and all I have to do is stand there.
